About Us

The Niles Home for Children provides residential treatment, day treatment and education services to over 150 children, annually. The agency, founded in 1883, is located at 1911 East 23rd Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The campus consists of two adjacent buildings, one housing administrative offices and the residential dorm, and the other housing therapeutic and educational services.

Niles serves children ages 7 through 17 from eastern Kansas and across Missouri. The agency works in partnership with Missouri Division of Family Services Children’s Division; the Jackson County Mental Health Levy; and the Kansas City, Missouri School District.

Niles employs over 70 people, including social workers, teachers and residential technicians.

Administrative hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
